The directors of Preston Basketball are delighted to confirm that in February, 12 members of our Under 16 squads completed the in person Level 1 Refereeing course facilitated by Basketball England North West. The boys went through the hand signals, positioning and some top tips on refereeing led by Jade and Jonny from BE NW, completing practical assessments. They are now going through the process of completing their registration to get certified to be able to referee by themselves.

This is a key element of the development of our young players to give them a broader understanding of the game, gaining a lifelong qualification and enabling them to earn some money too.

Following on from its success we are running another Level 1 refereeing course on Tuesday 18th March for club members and some of our Under 14 squad are taking part in the Level 1 Table Officiating course at the same time. For more details please contact us at prestonbasketballclub@gmail.com.
